Rite Aid and HSB developed an on-going relationship with HSB's team assisting them in implementing and developing the Rite Aid prototype process. HSB provided cost saving advantages embracing the concept of roll-out retail construction and provided a streamline process from preliminary to project completion. HSB helped to adapt Rite Aid's "neighborhood drugstore" prototype to specific sites through integration of site conditions, local architectural design requirements, and local zoning criteria. HSB also assisted Rite Aid throughout the municipal approval process and used this forum as a reintroduction of the client's neighborhood drugstore concept. By assimilating and responding to specific community concerns and comments, HSB was able to proceed with a detailed design and construction documents after zoning approvals. The overall result was a optimization of the building's presence while maintaining a sensitivity to the community and neighborhood.
