Project Description
The 50th Anniversary of the US Open prompted the addition of a multilevel, brand-new retail store and promenade within the existing USTA Armstrong Stadium. HSB Architects and Richardson Design created a bright, clean design. Exposed ceilings set the stage for the custom-designed light fixture that mirrors the lines of a tennis court while simple track lights fill in the surroundings. High ceilings and exposed ductwork allow as much natural light inside as it allows a glow from the outside. Warm wood tones and brass accents give the store a luxurious yet classic aesthetic. Tennis rackets, tennis balls, and metal mesh panels are subtly introduced throughout the space without compromising the allure of the merchandise. Custom-designed display fixtures add an artistic, functional element to the retail experience.
