Project Description
When former Nobu chef Dante Boccuzzi came to HSB regarding transforming the old Chinato restaurant on E. 4th street into a new fine dining Japanese restaurant, we jumped at the opportunity to be a part of re-invigorating the E. 4th scene post-pandemic. The design started with opening up the entire first-floor space, even modifying the historic storefront to spill onto a newly established patio on Prospect Ave. The sushi bar is the focal point of the must-see action that the chef and his team bring to the restaurant. Ample ceiling and lighting features create the feeling of being amongst the sea. At the same time, the dark accents establish a mood of serenity and peace. Seating options vary throughout including indoor/outdoor, bar tops, booths, banquettes, and feature party tables along E. 4th Street. For those fortunate enough to get a special invite, the lower level also includes a concealed speakeasy-style lounge that is even moodier than the first floor.
