Project Description
In partnership with Richardson Design, HSB completed an overhaul of the existing, outdated zoo food court building. The team completely reworked the back of the kitchen area to provide better efficiencies and all new kitchen equipment. MEP systems were upgraded to accommodate the latest equipment and provide better efficiencies to the HVAC controls. The front-of-house service counters and exterior facades were refinished to give the concession stands a fresh but cohesive appearance. The team drew inspiration from other recent renovations across the zoo. The finishes work to provide continuity between structures across the entire zoo. At the end of the existing concessions, a 400 square-foot addition was added to create a grab-and-go market space where patrons could quickly grab a drink or snack and continue their journey across the zoo.
