Pipefitters Local #120 HQ Expansion

Project Description

HSB Architects + Engineers partnered with Pipefitters Local 120 to design a new welding training center at its Valley View, Ohio headquarters. The addition expanded training capacity from 19 to 36 welding stations, giving apprentices and journeymen greater access to hands-on instruction and certification opportunities. Working closely with the union and Interfinish, HSB coordinated the architectural design and engineering requirements, including electrical infrastructure upgrades and a specialized fume extraction system. A connecting corridor features observation windows that allow visitors to view training without entering the shop. The expansion also frees up the former welding area for future training programs, supporting the union’s continued investment in its workforce.
